The mission of our Moraga Kiwanis Club is to support youth and their families in our service area of Contra Costa and Northern Alameda Counties.  Typically, their needs include food support, shelter, clothing, education, school backpacks and fun activities.  But what about supporting youth in a community like Lamorinda?

Joaquin Moraga Middle School has a Leadership Class for 8th graders.  It is competitive to get into and the students and their teacher, Holly Gabie, look for community service opportunities at their school and in their community.  A member of our Kiwanis club asked Miss Gabie if she had a couple of promising students who could lead our club's service to Camino Pablo Elementary (CP) on the annual Moraga Service Day who had attended CP.

She suggested two of her students, Fatemeh Kermani and Iris Knudson and they excelled at the opportunity.
