Members of the Kiwanis Club of Moraga Valley recently transported sale books from storage to assist library personnel to prepare the sale tables. After the sale they returned unsold books to the library's storage area.
Selecting books to donate at the end of sale, in exchange for a modest donation, remaining books were available for the public without charge. Club members, calling themselves Bibliophiles, selected appropriate books to be sent to two organizations: (1) Bahay Pag-Asa, a Philippine youth detention center and (2) North Oakland Charter School. The distributed unsold books were sent to regional school districts, supplemental reading programs, family assistance programs, and internationally.
