Nate will discuss his duties focused on delivering Capital Improvement Projects and Transportation Safety improvements, which includes planning, designing, and overseeing the construction of various projects such as the Town’s annual pavement rehabilitation project, Town-wide Safety Improvements (HSIP), and the County Smart Signals Project.

The speaker will be John Corlett, a physicist retired from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, whose topic is titled Forefront Developments in Astronomy and Astrophysics.
The speaker will outline some of the current challenges and advances in astronomy and astrophysics, including the impact of new results from unique capabilities of recently commissioned tools, such as the James Web Space Telescope (JWST), the Dark Energy Spectroscopy Instrument (DESI) and the LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) Dark Matter experiment.

The speaker will be Lucas Lambert, Deputy Fire Chief of the Moraga-Orinda Fire Protection District (MOFD). He will be sharing insights from the experiences the MOFD team encountered while assisting with the Palisades and Eaton Fires in Southern California. He will present lessons learned and discuss how we can implement preventative measures in our own communities to improve our community’s survival in the event of a wildland fire.

The speaker will be Lynda Deschambault, recently-installed member of the East Bay Regional Parks District Board of Directors. Lynda represents Ward 2, which includes Moraga.
The title of her presentation is "Protecting Our Parks". Lynda will provide an overview of the key climate crisis challenges facing the sustainability of our communities, an orientation to the East Bay Regional Parks District (EBRPD), the work of the Parks District, and actions we can take and ways to be involved to best help protect our Parks for future generations to enjoy.

She will provide an update on what is going on in the District and in the County.

The speaker will be Gerald Mbugua, who represents and will discuss Maktabas Inc, a non-profit with offices in San Lorenzo.
The Maktaba project focuses on establishing libraries for children and adults in local communities and slums in Kenya that have no text books. Many of the books are collected from unsold books at the semi-annual Friends of the Moraga Library book sale event.
Gerald will provide an update on Maktabas and his work in Kenya to distribute those books.

Our guest presenter will be Professor Jeem Sirivar, Coordinator of the Entrepreneurship program in the School of Economics and Business Administration, and Alejandra Perez, President of the Entrepreneurship Club, who will talk about her family's entrepreneurial business, Alex's Bee Farm.
The Program Provider will be Donald E. Gibson, PhD, Dean of the School of Economics and Business Administration (SEBA) at Saint Mary’s College.

Representatives of the Diablo Valley Chapter of the League of Women Voters are scheduled to give a presentation entitled “Fact Over Fiction – Navigating the News.”
The presentation includes suggestions on several subtopics, including (i) how to spot questionable information, (ii) how to assess what is valid journalism vs. propaganda, (iii) how to verify text and images, (iv) how to help slow the mis/disinformation cycle and (v) how to find and access trusted sources of news and information.

Rob has worked as an actor, playwright, director, and educator in schools and theaters across the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and New York, and lives in Moraga.
