"Turkey: Anatolian Crossroads in History”.
Join us for an exploration of the fascinating history of Turkey as discovered on a 2024 Wilderness Travel adventure by Jim O’Brient and friends. Although the history can be traced back over 5,000 years, we will focus on a few of the various settlements from the last 2,700 years as revealed in a number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites including sites in Istanbul, Cappadocia, and along the Turquoise Coast from Ekinsik to Antalya. These crossroads have seen over fifteen different civilizations come and go. The most recent is only 100 years old. |
